AYO Media has taken on three new staff members following another year of rapid growth that has seen the firm triple in size over the past two years.
The web development agency, which now employs nine staff, is also set to embark on another recruitment drive at the start of the New Year as the company gears up for expansion in 2011.
AYO Media’s new starters are all developers that have been brought in to bolster its technical team and provide additional support to its growing list of clients. The talented recruits include application developers Grant Cooper and Finlay Mann, as well as web developer Jennifer Beckwith.
Rob Mathieson, managing director at AYO Media, said: “We have been working closely with local universities and colleges over the last few months to help identify these up and coming industry stars to assist with our ongoing growth.
“The last 12 months have been fantastic for our team and we require additional resource to help with our current inroads into the manufacturing and utilities sectors. We’ve massively strengthened our business in 2010, which has allowed us to build bigger and better websites and online applications for our customers.
“We’ve recently received some fantastic feedback from our clients regarding the commercial impact our work is making to their businesses. But rather than rest on our laurels, we are looking to use this as a solid foundation to expand the company,” added Rob.
AYO Media assists companies with web design, ecommerce and online marketing. Its technical experts are able to deliver complex and tailor-made software-driven process for web and mobile based platforms. It has now created and developed numerous internal and external applications that are helping businesses improve operational efficiency and optimise their systems.
New starter Grant Cooper, 29, recently graduated in Applied Computing from Newcastle College and joins the business on a permanent basis following a three-month placement through the College. His primary focus at AYO Media will be on web-application development for its clients.
Finlay Mann, 23, a recent Software Engineer graduate from Northumbria University, brings impressive experience having worked as a test engineer at Microsoft on the new Mediaroom platform. He will be responsible for the internal quality assurance process, software testing and play a role in product development.
Jennifer Beckwith, 21, joins the team from Communicator Corp, which is part of the Leighton Group, and will be working within the current web development team to build robust and accessible website interfaces.
Jennifer said: “AYO Media is a very well respected agency in the North-East and offers an ideal environment for me to build up my knowledge-base and soak-up as much experience as possible. I am particularly looking forward to getting involved in client projects that include the design and build of iPhone and iPad applications.”
